This client came to us without a basement remodeling plan but with some great ideas. She had a damp basement, subject to leaks, entirely unfinished and used only for storage and some work-out gear. What she wanted a place where her teenage children could go, to have fun and relax...
Working with her designer, we developed a plan that incorporated a media room, kitchenette, gym, full bathroom and a darkroom for her passion - photography. Unique to this basement remodel was a small elevator installed to allow a wheelchair bound friend easy access up and down. Working with a waterproofing specialist, the basement's leaky walls and floor were made sound. The walls were framed, sheet-rocked and molded, the gym floor set in place and the bathroom finished. We built custom knotty pine cabinetry for the kitchenette and the media cabinet. The client, an artist, added her own touches and the result was exactly what she wanted - a beautiful basement that her family could enjoy everyday.
