A 1920's colonial with a cramped and dated kitchen is updated with a kitchen expansion and new custom cabinetry. Working with the client's architect, we bumped out the kitchen's back wall eight feet and sidewall five feet. We installed new bay windows in the kitchen and dining room, finished off with built in window seats, and four-panel sliding pocket doors between the two rooms.
The new kitchen cabinetry is maple with a natural stain and matte lacquer finish. A striking design element in this kitchen remodel is the glass mosaic tile inlay in the custom maple crown molding. Finished off with glass brick subway tiles and a glass mosaic tile design over the stove, this kitchen remodel is both striking and functional. It's a great new space for the family to cook and eat.
